Becoming a Better Ally: Identifying and Addressing Micro-Inequities

Tuesday, August 2, 2022 (8:00 AM - 9:00 AM) (EDT)

Description

An ally is a person who actively promotes and aspires to advance the culture of inclusion through intentional, positive, and conscious efforts that benefit people.  Micro-Inequities (sometimes called microaggressions) are subtle actions that single out, marginalize, devalue, or overlook an individual. They have a chilling effect on the individual and the team. In some cases, the person may not know that he/she/they is behaving in an inappropriate manner. In this workshop, attendees will find ways to make their organizations more inclusive by becoming better allies to individuals through an exploration of microaggressions, how to spot them and how to address them.

This is the third of four workshops MMA will be hosting in 2022. View previous workshops in this series and find other resources at Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
